What is HD Radio?

HD Radio technology allows KAZU to add up to two additional audio channels to the main analog signal. To listen you will need to buy an HD-compatible radio, available at any electronics or car stereo retailer. Unlike satellite radio or some webcasting services there is no monthly fee.

Basin Complex Fire: 22 Structures Destroyed

Firefighters discovered two more burned buildings in the Big Sur area, bringing to total lost to 22.  Sunday they will work on burning operations to build a buffer zone along Highway 1 and around the Pico Blanco Boy Scout Camp.  Expect to see a lot of smoke in the sky from these burning operations.
The fire has grown to more than 72,000 acres and is 11% contained.  The number of fire personnel is up to more than 2300.  They expect full containment on July 30th.
Residents on both sides of Highway 1 between Palo Colorado Canyon Road and Lucia remain under a mandatory evacuation order.  Click here for details on all orders and advisories.
No travel is allowed on this section of Highway 1.

Indians Fire Containment Expected Monday

The containment date for the Indians Fire has been pushed back to Monday.  Firefighters are carefully working on dozer lines in the Rodeo Flats Trail area.  The fire is covering more than 81,000 acres west of King City, though not all of those acres have burned.  It is 97% contained.  The fire is still threatening more than 400 homes.  Click here for details.
